Monterey, California is one of my favorite areas along the California coast. I took many photos on a recent trip -- the weather was perfect every day. I was captivated by the waves hitting the rocks with pools of water running off them, only to repeat the process over and over. The diversity of the landscape in Monterey is captivating: endless beaches for walking, waves crashing against rocks inhabited by sea lions, and dramatic cliffs with cypress trees shaped by the wind. As soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to paint this scene from one of the photos I took. This painting ships unframed, but it fits in a standard 12x16 wood frame which can be purchased at a local arts and crafts store or framing shop. The piece will be shipped in a flat, protected cardboard container; and it will include two frame clips to attach the canvas to a purchased wooden frame, as well as an easy hanger.
